To ourfriends who love peace

73^th summer coming, we have passedsince the atomic bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

More over in the world, there are 14,000 shotsunclear bombs, they threaten the human beings to live. The atomic bombsdestroyed the two cities in a moment, deprived the lives of 210,000 peoplewithin the year. That was the worst tragedy through the human history, stillnow 160,000 people have been suffering. By nuclear tests and accident ofnuclear plants also extends seriously radioactivity from every corner of theworld.

The people who desire no the nuclearweapons are over average 80 hope the rising generations will have never a hellof life during thire life. Must not become A-bomb victims of you, your familyand all the people. From last year, we A-bomb victims started to ask signaturecampaign all over the world that wanted to conclude a treaty of no the nuclearweapons. We make a stream of no the nuclear weapons with these signatures and“We human being never coexist with the nuclear weapons.” “No more A-bombvictims.”

In July-7^th, we adopted no thenuclear weapons treaty was elected by an over 122 countries whelming majorityat treaty of no the nuclear weapons meeting of UN. The treaty says the preambleto the treaty cleared in humane, this is the only way to defend by the nuclearweapons devastations. And the things make an epoch in the first articleprohibited all the nuclear weapons “development, experiment, production,manufacture, acquisition, possession, preservation” “use and intimidation ofuse” “transfer” “establishment, dispositions” in control area.

We, The Great Peace March of Ehime JapanCouncil against Atomic & Hydrogen Bombs, have done the peace march for 58years hoping the world peace and abolition of nuclear weapons as a bombednation with the constitution of renunciation of war. This year, too, we visitedall the cities in Ehime and over 500 citizens including the A-bombed victimstook part in the peace march. At the same time the action of sending thesepaper cranes as peace messengers to foreign countries is organized and 150,000paper cranes are gathered.

One thousand cranes represent long life. Itis said the cranes live a thousand years and the turtles ten thousand years.There is a child statue of A-bomb victim in Hiroshima Peace Park.Sadako Sasaki was 2 years and 8 months old when the A-bomb was dropped. Shecontinued folding a thousand paper cranes. She died of acute leukemia at theage of 12. Cranes are full of our resolution not to bring about A-bomb victimagain.

We will send them to your group. We havesent 4,288,000 cranes to 84 groups in 31 countries. We wish you to make use ofthem for your peace activities of anti-nuclear, anti-war anti-nuclear plantfrom the glass roots movement. We look forward to hearing your activity.

　１９４５年８月、広島・長崎に原爆が投下されてから７３年目の夏を迎えました。

今なお世界には、１万４千発以上の核兵器が存在し、人類の生存を脅かしています。原爆は、一瞬のうちに２つの都市を破壊し、２１万人の尊い命を奪いました。人類史上例のない非人道的な被害をもたらし、現在も１６万人の被爆者が苦しみ続けています。また、核実験や原発事故によって世界各地に深刻な放射能被害が広がっています。

平均年令８０才をこえた被爆者は、後世の人々が生き地獄を体験しないように、生きている間になんとしても核兵器のない世界を実現したいと切望しています。あなたとあなたの家族、全ての人々を絶対に被爆者にしてはなりません。２０１６年より被爆者はすみやかな核兵器廃絶を願い、核兵器を禁止し廃絶する条約を結ぶことを、すべての国に求める国際署名がスタートしました。この署名含めて、「人類と核兵器は絶対に共存できない」「ふたたび被爆者をつくるな」という市民社会の運動が、核兵器廃絶を求める流れを作り出しています。

２０１７年７月７日には、核兵器禁止条約を交渉する国連会議で、核兵器禁止条約を１２２カ国の圧倒的多数で採択しました。条約は、その前文で核兵器の非人道性を告発し、核兵器による惨害を防ぐ唯一の確実な道として、核兵器の廃絶の必要性を明確にしました。その上で、第一条において核兵器の「開発、実験、生産、製造、取得、保有、貯蔵」、「使用と使用の威嚇」、「譲渡」、支配地域での「設置や配備」を含むすべての行為を禁止した画期的なものです。

私たち原水爆禁止国民平和大行進愛媛県実行委員会は、被爆国であり、戦争放棄の憲法をもつ日本国民として、世界の平和と核兵器廃絶を願い、５８年間平和行進を続けています。今年も全自治体を訪問し、被爆者をはじめ５００人をこえる県民が行進しました。同時に「『平和の使者』千羽鶴を海外へ送る運動」にとりくみ、今年も１５万羽の折り鶴がよせられています。

千羽鶴は、日本では「鶴は千年、亀は万年」と言われ、長命の象徴です。広島平和公園には「原爆の子の像」があります。２歳８ヶ月で被爆した佐々木貞子さんは、急性白血病になり、「生きたい」という願いを込めて鶴を折り続けましたが、１２歳で亡くなりました。折り鶴には、「再び被爆者をつくらない」という決意が込められています。
