ニュージーランドからお礼の手紙が

　8/6に“平和の使者”千羽鶴を海外へ送るつどいを行いました。その前段、ニュージーランドで『広島・長崎集会』が行われるとのことで、７月２２日に航空便で先立って送り、到着したことへのお礼のメールがきています。

８／５に届いたメール

　この新聞記事を折鶴を贈ってくれた皆さんに転送してください。写真を撮ったところはウェリントンの「平和の灯」のところです。折鶴と禎子の話に関心が集まりました。

　広島・長崎集会に集まった市民に折鶴をたくさん配りました。また、各地の学校にもたくさん送りました。世論の関心も高まりました。

　残念ながらジェラルド・オブライエンさんは出席できませんでした。

　たくさんの国の大使館が代表を送ってくれたことも特徴の一つでした。ですがアメリカ大使館からは日本の友人によろしくと私に言ってきた人はいませんでした。

This photo was taken at the Peace Flamein Wellington.

There was much interest in the paper cranesand the story of Sadako.

We gave many cranes to the public who were atthe Hiroshima / Nagasaki ceremony.

We have also sent many to schoolsand the general public were very interested as well.

Unfortunately, Gerald O' Brien could not bewith us.

It is of interest that this year that  many foreign Embassies sent representitivesto the Ceremony. 

But no one from the US Embassy...
